Our Vision:

We aim to develop advanced nanomaterials for the sustainability of our society and environment.

Advanced nanomaterials have significant potential to mitigate environmental risks, energy issues and health problems while assisting the improvement of industrial productivity. We aim to develop new nanomaterials and new nano-applications to make impacts on the economic, social and environmental issues. This includes the development of new technologies for improved catalysts, pollutant removal,  enhanced biocompatibility and durability of materials, utilisation of renewable resources, value-adding of waste materials, and new biomedical materials.

Sustainable nanotechnology requires its applications focused on the energy and environmental issues. In addition, sustainable nanotechnology needs to be developed in a way it minimises health and environmental risks at all stages of the life cycle including manufacturing, recycling and disposal processes. We apply this "life-cycle thinking" to the development of nanotechnology from the viewpoint of materials/manufacturing engineering, whereby assist the development of safe nanotechnology useful for improving our society and environment.
